As captain, he pulls together a rotating crew of primals, djinn, and fellow Skyfarers to chase the island his father supposedly reached, and his easygoing, protective-big-brother energy is exactly why so much of the fandom casts him as the ideal self-insert for every other character in the roster.

That self-insert status shows up hard in the numbers: search Gran hentai and you’re mostly finding doujin work, not fan art — 92 manga entries against just 5 R34 pieces, a lopsided split that says artists would rather draw him paired off with the crew than post standalone pin-ups. Mimonel’s name comes up again and again across the top comics here, and the tag list (Big Breasts, Nakadashi, Kemonomimi, Horns) reads like a checklist of Granblue’s beast-eared, horned cast getting bred by the captain one arc at a time.
