Yu-Gi-Oh Vrains – Set in a futuristic virtual reality world, this spin-off follows Yusaku as he duels against hackers and uncovers conspiracies tied to his past in high-tech card battles.
Aoi Zaizen (Blue Angel) is one of the key female characters in Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS. She is initially introduced as a popular celebrity duelist known as "Blue Angel" in the virtual world of LINK VRAINS, where she uses a Trickstar deck. Aoi has a complex personality, struggling with feelings of loneliness and a desire for approval from her older brother, Akira Zaizen. As Blue Angel, she presents a confident and charismatic persona, but her real-life personality is more reserved and introverted. Throughout the series, Aoi evolves as both a duelist and a person, eventually adopting new personas like Blue Girl and Blue Maiden as she grows more confident in herself and her abilities.
Emma Bessho (Ghost Gal) is a charismatic and daring hacker who operates in the world of LINK VRAINS. She uses a Trickstar deck and later incorporates Knightmares into her strategy, making her a formidable duelist. Ghost Gal is a cunning and opportunistic character, often working for her own personal gain, but she also has a moral compass and cares about the safety of her allies. Her hacking skills and dueling prowess make her a strong player in the virtual world, and her interactions with Playmaker (Yusaku) and the other characters are often filled with tension and intrigue.
Akira Zaizen is not a duelist but serves as a key figure in the series as Aoi’s protective older brother and the security chief of SOL Technologies. While not directly involved in dueling, his influence and leadership play a crucial role in the ongoing conflict within LINK VRAINS. He is deeply concerned for his sister’s well-being, often trying to protect her from the dangers of the virtual world while also balancing his duties to SOL Technologies. Akira’s relationship with Aoi is central to both of their character developments, particularly as Aoi strives to prove herself in the digital world.
